The annual Hindustan Times Mint Asia Leadership Summit, took place at Hotel Shangri La, Singapore on the 6th September. Celebrities and top leaders from India and other countries took part in the summit and discussed on the rise of Asia and the East, amidst the political and economic surge.
Celebrities who took part included Katrina Kaif, actor, Mr Virendra Sehwag, former Indian cricketer. The inaugural address included Du Paul Krugman, Professor of Economics and distinguished scholar at the Graduate Centres Luxemborg income study centreat city university of New York.
Special address was given by Mr Heng Swee Keat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Singapore and there was also conversation with Dr S Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs, India. Both the sessions were chaired by Mr R Sukumar, Editor-in-chief, Hindustan Times.
Mr Heng Swee Keat said that, the relationship between Singapore and India have been deepening and broadening, particularly in the last twenty years and both countries can do more for their people as both the economies are progressing well.
India’s Minister for Foreign Affairs spoke on the relations between China and India, Pakistan and India. He said that India has always been happy to talk to Pakistan, but it must be done without having the gun of terrorism pointed at our heads.
Bollywood actor, Hrithick Roshan said that Katrina Kaif is a beautiful actress and through her sheer hard work, she has made a good progress in her career.
The summit which was the 2nd edition of the HT MintAsia Leadership, brought politicians, intellectuals, policy makers in the fields of arts, politics, science and technology, where many dialogues unraveled interesting facts.
