Sweet and sour Chicken – April 1st, 2006
INGREDIENTS
a) Chicken -1/2 kg
Egg – 1
Maida – 3 tbsp
Baking powder – ½ tsp
Salt – to taste
Aginomoto – ½ tsp
b) Cellary – 1 stalk (cut diagonally)
Capsicum – 2 (cut into big pscs. And remove the seeds)
Onion – 2 (cut into 4 separate pscs)
Pineapple – 1 or 2 slices
Oil – 2 tbsp
c) Sugar – 2 tbsp
Vinegar – 3 tbsp
Soya sauce – 1 tbsp
Tomato sauce – 2 tbsp
d) Cornflour – 1 tbsp
Water – 1 ½ cup
Method
Clean and cut the chicken into small pieces, and add 1 tsp of soya sauce and salt to it and keep it aside. Then mix the egg, baking powder, maida and salt. Now,add little water and make it into a thick batter. Cook the chicken with soya sauce and water. ( Have a little water and cook it). Cool the chicken. Then dip it in maida and deep fry till it becomes goldern brown in colour.
Heat the oil in a kadai and put all the ingredients (b) except pineapple. When it is half cooked, mix ingredients (c) in a bowl, and add it into ingredient (b).
When the mixture boils up, add (d), Simmer for sometime and remove from the flame. Then add the fried chicken pieces and the aginomoto. Now add the pineapple slices and serve it.
